Dr. Malcolm Finlayson served as Entrepreneur in Residence in Hamilton I, helping to find and evaluate the fund’s investment in Egea Biosciences. Dr. Finlayson served as President of Egea from 2001 through the successful sale in 2004 to Johnson & Johnson. Formerly, Dr. Finlayson was Director of R&D, COO, then President of a Division of Invitrogen Corporation, San Diego’s largest Biotechnology company. Dr. Finlayson has also been a management consultant to Biotechnology companies, and a research scientist at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California. Dr. Finlayson has authored numerous publications.
Dr. Finlayson received a Ph.D. in Pharmacology and Toxicology from the University of British Columbia, and a B.A. in Molecular Biology from San Jose State University.
